CITY Descriptions

Leeds

Located in central England, this fair draws from the six largest universities in the UK. Leeds is a hub of activity and attracts more participants than any of the other UK Camp Fairs.

Applicants: Mostly counselor applicants (both general and specialists) as well as some Support Staff. Skills are a wide range (waterfront, sports, arts, horseback riding, etc). You will also be able to meet some applicants from Scotland who travel down for this event as well as staff from all over the north of England.

London

A center of culture and history, London has an endless list of attractions, including Big Ben, the Tower Bridge, and St. Paul’s Cathedral.

Applicants: Mostly counselor applicants (both general and specialists) as well as some Support Staff. Skills are a wide range (waterfront, sports, arts, horseback riding, etc). You will also be able to meet applicants from central and southern parts of England and Wales who will attend this event.

Add-on trip Options

If you are interested and have the hiring capacity, you may wish to add-on an additional city to your UK trip. Due to space available, only a limited number of camps will be registered for these add-on trips. (*Interested camps must be able to show intent and ability to hire a minimum of 5 participants per additional city). The add-on options are as follows:

The Hague

(*head to the Netherlands for this great fair before your UK tour)

  • Jan 16 (Weds)-  Arrive Amsterdam, Netherlands; Transfer by train to The Hague
  • Jan 17 (Thurs)- The Hague Fair
  • Jan 18 (Fri)- Group flight to Leeds, England

The Hague is situated on the western coast of the Netherlands. Its Gothic-style Binnenhof (or Inner Court) complex is the seat of the Dutch parliament. It is the third largest city in the Netherlands and also home to the U.N.’s International Court of Justice, headquartered in the Peace Palace, and the International Criminal Court.

Applicants: Dutch applicants will be applying for counselor positions. Many attend sports training schools and/or have interest/experience in working with special needs populations. (*Please note- there are no Support Staff applicants available from the Netherlands. They are eligible for the SWT visa, but this is not a popular option for Dutch students).

Dublin

(*continue onto Republic of Ireland for this great camp fair directly after the UK fair)

  • Jan 21 (Mon)- Group flight from the UK to Dublin, Ireland
  • Jan 22 (Tues)- Dublin Fair
  • Jan 23 (Weds)- End of Trip

Capital of the Republic of Ireland, Dublin lays on Ireland’s east coast at the mouth of the River Liffey. Following the partition of Ireland in 1922, Dublin became the capital of the Irish Free State, later renamed Ireland (or Republic of Ireland).

Applicants: Participants from all over Ireland (including from Northern Ireland, which is considered part of the United Kingdom), will attend the camp fair in Dublin. Predominantly counselor applicants, whose skills will range from sports to sailing, horseback riding to OLS. There will be a small number of Support Staff applicants.

Edinburgh

(*continue onto Scotland for this great camp fair directly after the UK fair)

  • Jan 21 (Mon)- Group transfer by train to Edinburgh
  • Jan 22 (Tues)- Edinburgh Fair
  • Jan 23 (Weds)- End of Trip

Edinburgh is the capital city of Scotland. Located in Lothian on the Firth of Forth's southern shore, it is Scotland's second most populous city and the seventh most populous in the UK. It is home to the picturesque Edinburgh Castle, a historic fortress, which dominates the city's skyline.

Applicants: Participants from all over Scotland (and parts of Northern England) will attend this fair. Predominantly counselor applicants with a wide variety of skills from sports to arts to OLS. Some Support Staff applicants may be available at this fair.

*Please note that interested camps may only select Dublin OR Edinburgh (not both). This is due to high demand for and limited space on trips.

CCUSA is my choice for international staffing because they are dedicated to making both staff placements and camp directors happy. I have also been part of numerous Camp Fairs around the world and I am always happy with the outcome of the fairs. CCUSA also helps to make it a family atmosphere. CCUSA, JOB WELL DONE! THANKS! - Tom, Kenmont-Kenwood
